Let's Explore: Melissa and Doug Toy Design

The Ranger Dog is one of my favorite sketches from my time at Melissa and Doug. I based this toy around an earlier plush offering, and tried to pack in as much play value as the little guy could carry!

Although the form of the final product diverged pretty far from this initial concept, all of the play features in this sketch made the cut in one form or another!

While designing a single-piece plastic insert for the bottom of a bug terrarium, I had a lot of fun exploring different habitats and finding just the right degree of stylization. I also modeled the final manufactured part in Solidworks.
